J. Brad Hains - Part -Time Office and Facility Manager
That smiling guy you sometimes see when you walk into the LNW waiting room is Brad, who wears multiple hats at Lighthouse Nutrition Wellness - enough to make anyone's head spin! Talk about flexibility and versatility. Brad is indispensable as our Office Manager, Front Desk Guy, Facility Technician Who Can Fix Anything/Technical Guru, Occasional Chef, and the one we go to if a computer is not working right, credit card machine is kaput, copier ink is out, or a kitchen appliance needs to be installed. If that's not enough, he also makes reminder calls, balances financial accounts, and does multiple other daily office tasks while Cathy tends to the business of assisting in her clients' health. As with other volunteers, Brad takes work at Lighthouse Nutrition and Wellness seriously and has been trained to understand and respect the privacy of our clients, and the sensitive nature of this field.
Brad has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University and an Associate in Aviation Technology from the Community College of the Air Force, and Associate in Computer Information Management, also from Northwood University. Brad's passions are flying, engineering and inventing, research and development, and he is also interested in health and science in general ( a science magazine and health article junkie) and pianist/composer. He plans to publish his music compositions and become a pilot, so that he can one day fly with his dietitian wife around the country. He lately has been working at Bates Technical College as a Nursing Department Simulator Technician, so his weekly hours at LNW are very limited, but they are very helpful hours indeed!
Cathy is passionate about good health and overall wellness, and knowing that weight and overall health status, as well as mental and spiritual state, has so much to do with disease prevention and quality of life, she strives to provide the best weight management and nutrition service in the area. She employs a whole body approach which is science-based while keeping an eye out for new discoveries on the horizon. With a Masters in Nutrition, added certificates in specialty areas, seven years experience as a Registered Dietitian and many more as a nutritionist, she assists clients several kinds of nutrition-related conditions.
